Get this I am taking Photography at college as part of my arts degree. They have Mac's with CS3. They will not recognize any of my CR2 files. It has been 2 weeks into our panorama schedule and still no updates to fix the problem. The instructor seems to have other things on his mind besides my dilemma. The machines are not connected to the internet. All my efforts to get them to fix the problem has somehow fallen on deaf ears. However, the bad part of this is that I just show up and set there for an hour and a half twiddling my thumbs.
I am the only student with a DSLR. Everyone else has a tragic point and shoot. Would this burn your biscuits? It does mine! My next class is next Monday.
If It's not fixed, I'm going directly to the Big Cheese himself. It won't be pretty! One last thing. They instruct us in the use of a DSLR in detail. All the while, almost no students have yet to even touch one.

Kind regards I downloaded it and it wouldn't recognize any CR2 files in windows vista to use as the source, not even the CR2 files from the 50D. Thanks for the tip. Photoshop, Raw and the 50D. Thread starter Hirundapus Start date Oct 28, Hirundapus Well-known member. Those nice folks at Photoshop seem to have done it again. It seems you cannot open Canon 50D raw files in Photoshop unless you upgrade to Photoshop CS4, because the Photoshop new raw plugin does not allow it. But, interestingly, the no-longer-available beta version of that plug-in did allow opening 50D raw files in CS3, so the change appears to be a deliberate ploy by Photoshop to force unnecessary upgrades.

Tannin Common; sedentary. I don't understand all this. I have a 50D and CS3, and have done nothing other than allow Photoshop to update itself in the ordinary way, but can open 50D raw files without any problems at all. But other people are clearly having difficulties.
